WHAT TO EXPECT

a guide to your wedding photography experience

I'm in this with you

I'm beyond honored that you've trusted me to tell the story of your wedding day with my camera.  I can not wait to get to know the two of you, find out what makes your relationship unique, and be there every step of the way during the wedding planning process.  Please feel free to utilize me during this time of planning - as with about 450 weddings under my belt over the last 16 years, I've seen & handled it all!  Use me as a resource while you plan anytime.  Additionally, this guide will help you know what to expect during your time in working with me.

You've squared away your photographer.  One less thing to do in the wedding planning process!  I hope this guide can serve as a helpful tool for you to use in knowing what to expect from us during the wedding planning process.

Please reach out with any questions during your wedding planning process!  Please note that email is the best way to contact us.  Also, please keep conversations in email verses Facebook or Instagram so we can keep all notes regarding your big day in one place!

Now What?

I LOVE to get an idea of what you have planned for your big day, as well as see the general esthetic you're drawn toward. If you're using Pinterest to help plan your wedding day, please feel free to send over a link and/or add me to your board if it's private so that I may view it.  Additionally, if you have created a mood board with your wedding planner and/or floral designer, send that my way as well.

When considering when to do your engagement session, consider if you would like to use images from your session on your Save the Dates.  It's recommended to send Save the Dates 6-8 months prior to the wedding.  Keep that in mind when scheduling your engagement session.

I recommend avoiding the winter months for engagement sessions unless we are doing an indoor at-home session, or shooting for the purpose of a snowy shoot (in which case it's a 30-minute max).  Cold weather lends to tense bodies & red noses, all which show up in photos - and we want to make sure you are feeling relaxed & happy!

If you would like to do your engagement session outside of the Cincinnati area, we are happy to discuss travel availability to head off to a destination of your choice.

Please reach out to us when you are ready to schedule your engagement session.  We suggest scheduling 2 months in advance for the best choice of dates; as engagement session spots tend to fill up quickly.

YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION

WEDDING PLANNER?

If you are using a wedding planner for your event, please let us know who you will be using as soon as possible, as we will be in touch with them through the planning process.

In the months between your engagement session & your wedding day, you won't hear as much from us - but know we're still here to help should you need it!

About 2 months before your wedding day, it will be time for us to begin discussing more details.  I have a timeline questionnaire that I will send your way to gather more information that will be helpful for us when determining the flow of your day from the photography perspective.  If you are using a planner, we will join forces to make sure everything is smoothed out.  If not, we will create your timeline with you!

Once we receive the completed questionnaire, we will schedule a time to go over the wedding day details, timeline, and photo requests.  This meeting should happen no later than 1 month prior to the wedding; however if you would like to schedule it earlier you absolutely can!  Just shoot over an email & we'll get it scheduled!

A few things to keep in mind during your months of wedding planning that relate to your photographic experience:

-Your getting ready space.  Be sure to choose a getting ready location that has plenty of space, neutral (preferably light) colored walls, and natural window light.  Feel free to even send us photos of potential spaces to ask if they'd be a good spot!

-Sunset time.  Pay close attention to what the sunset time is for your wedding day.  This will impact the light you have for photos after the ceremony, and may cause you to consider a first look even if you weren't thinking of doing one before (specifically in the case of winter weddings when the sun sets earlier in the day).  Please reach out with ANY lighting related questions, anytime!

The wedding day is over & you're likely off to relax during your honeymoon.  While you're away, be sure to check our social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram) as I may post a teaser image or two for you shortly after you say "I do!"

All of your images will be edited & delivered to you within 6 weeks of your wedding day.  We will reach out to you via email as soon as the images are complete & send your gallery with instructions on how to download the photos.

All the images you will receive in your gallery will be high resolution and free of any watermarks.  You're welcome to print & share those to your hearts content.

JUST MARRIED

We will also send over the instructions on how to choose the images for your album at that time.  If you want to add additional albums, you will have the option to do so then.

You are never required to give photography credit to us or tag when sharing your images on social media.  However, because our business is based solely on word of mouth, we kinda love it when you do!
